The Oldest Skins in CS2

Counter-Strike: The Global Offensive was released by Valve Corporation over a decade ago. During this time, dozens of weapon cases have been introduced, and many of them can still be bought on the Steam Market today, known as the oldest Skins in CS2.

On Tradeit, you will find numerous old-school CS2 skins. Some Covert ones are quite famous and cost much money, but you can also find cheap ones.

About Weapon Skins And Their History

Weapon skins were introduced to allow players to customize their visual experience a little bit. In real life, many people like to dress fancy or elegant. Skins are just a way of replicating that mechanism inside a video game.

Using a weapon skin might make you more confident in your abilities. And if it’s a rare skin, the effect is even more significant. Knife skins are very popular these days, but the truth is that they haven’t been around from the beginning.

When CS2 skins were introduced, nobody imagined they would become valuable one day.

Like other games, CS2 has lots of skin collections (such as the Arms Deal Collection or the Ancient Collection) and CS skins come in different levels of rarity. The rarest skins are generally the most expensive, but not always. A knife skin can cost $100 but it can also cost $5.000. It all depends on the specifics.

Another critical factor that impacts skins is the float value or the wear level, which can be one of the five types listed below:

  • Factory New
  • Minimal Wear
  • Field Tested
  • Well Worn
  • Battle Scarred

On the Steam Community Market, you can check the price of each CS2 skin for its entire lifetime. This will give you an idea of how prices evolved. If you’re trying to sell CS2 skins, you must always pay attention to what the public is willing to offer you right now. Otherwise, you may have to wait months or years to make the sale.

On your Steam Account, you can find all of your CS2 skins by clicking “View Inventory” and selecting CS2. This link appears right below your Wallet Balance.

The First CS2 Cases

CS2 Cases started to be introduced in 2013. And one by one, new cases were added to the game, to the delight of its community. These are the first cases that Valve created. Naturally, they contain the oldest skins in CS2.

CS2 Weapon Case

The first CS2 case appeared in August 2013 and was called the CS2 Weapon Case. It contained a lot of great skins, the most famous of which are the AWP Lightning Strike and the AK-47 Case Hardened.

One interesting fact about the AK is that it can have multiple patterns. And some of those patterns can cost tens of thousands of dollars. This is one of the most expensive skin in CS2.

A single unit of CS2 Weapon Case costs around $60. This is an enormous amount of money for a single case but the rewards are proportional. Many of the skins that you can find in this case are highly valuable.

If you’ve played CS2 for a long time, you probably own some of these skins. What’s fascinating is how their prices changed over time. Skins that used to cost just a few dollars now cost 20 times more.

Another exciting aspect of the CS2 Weapon Case is that some of its Classified skins have come to be regarded as more valuable than the Covert one. Even the most basic version of the AK-47 Case Hardened costs a lot of money.

Operation Bravo Case

This case appeared on September 19, 2013, in association with the Operation Bravo update. And it is full of the best CS2 skins.

  • AK-47 | Fire Serpent
  • Desert Eagle | Golden Koi
  • AWP | Graphite
  • P2000 | Ocean Foam
  • P90 | Emerald Dragon
  • USP-S | Overgrowth
  • MAC-10 | Graven
  • M4A4 | Zirka
  • M4A1-S | Bright Water
  • G3SG1 | Demeter
  • Galil AR | Shattered
  • SG 553 | Wave Spray
  • UMP-45 | Bone Pile
  • Dual Berettas | Black Limba
  • Nova | Tempest

The best known skins on this list are the Fire Serpent, Graphite, and Ocean Foam. Occasionally, we also see people using the Emerald Dragon, but the weapon itself (P90) is so rarely used that the skin becomes a rarity in professional tournaments.
