The group stage of PGL Bucharest 2025 ended with some very interesting results. The supposedly strongest team in the race, The MongolZ, got eliminated, along with Astralis, Team Liquid, and others.
Meanwhile, G2 Esports, 3DMAX, and six other teams advanced to the playoffs. Team Falcons made a phenomenal comeback after losing the first two matches, largely thanks to Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov.
FaZe Clan and Virtus.pro barely made it through and did not look good at all. It’s clear that Robin “ropz” Kool was the one who made FaZe’s lineup work so well. But now that he’s gone, Finn “karrigan” Andersen seems unable to find a winning strategy that does not revolve around his superhuman lurking skills.
Struggling against the likes of Complexity is a bad sign. We must keep in mind that PGL Bucharest 2025 does not feature four of the top five teams in CS2. If those teams were here, FaZe would have had no chance of qualifying for the playoffs in their current form.
