Team Vitality Are Unstoppable

We’re just one week away from the start of the first CS2 Major of 2025, which will take place in Austin. In previous years, the number of contenders for the trophy was always high and nobody could know for sure who was going to win. But this time, Team Vitality looks destined to be champion.

Since the start of 2025, there have been 11 S-tier tournaments in CS2. Vitality competed in seven of them and won six. From January until now, they have been undefeated. Currently, they are on a 30-win streak. The last one was obtained in the Grand Final of IEM Dallas 2025, against MOUZ.

It’s hard to overstate how dominant Vitality’s roster is. This level of prowess hasn’t been seen in Counter-Strike since 2018. During their glory days, Astralis used to win almost every tournament and achieved ridiculous win streaks.

Given the level of skill and maturity of today’s CS2 teams, Vitality should not have been able to do what they did. But we don’t see anyone who can beat them at the upcoming Major. The only competitor that stands a chance is Team Falcons, who came close to putting an end to their win streak several times in a row.

Vitality’s Success in Dallas

At IEM Dallas 2025, Team Vitality started in group A, which they won by defeating Legacy, GamerLegion, and The MongolZ.

In the playoffs, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and his crew encountered Team Falcons in the semifinals and narrowly won the match on the third map: 13 – 7 on Dust 2, 6 – 13 on Train, and 13 – 11 on Inferno.

In the Grand Final, the first map, Dust 2, was the most challenging despite being their map pick. The score was 13 – 11. On Mirage (13 – 9) and Inferno (13 – 8), the battle was tense but Vitality always had a comfortable advantage.
