In the semifinals of PGL Bucharest 2025, G2 Esports won without too many problems against Complexity, as we expected, but FaZe Clan were defeated by Team Falcons.

This means that Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Nikola “NiKo” Kovač will finally get the opportunity to play against each other in a CS2 Grand Final, just 100 days after NiKo’s departure from G2. The two of them are good friends but NiKo decided to finally leave G2 after more than four years and six S-tier trophies.

G2 Esports vs. Complexity: 2 – 0

G2 started this match on Complexity’s map pick, Anubis, and quickly showed everyone who’s boss. They won the first half 9 – 3, essentially ending the map before their opponents could adjust their strategy.

On the second map, Dust II, the battle was much more difficult. Complexity won the first half 5 – 7 but did not manage to defend on the CT side against G2’s highly effective maneuvers. The final score was 13 – 9.

The best player on the server was m0NESY, who finished the match with a personal score of 43 – 21 and a rating 2.1 of 1.63.

Team Falcons vs. FaZe Clan: 2 – 1

Falcons started this match with an unexpected 13 – 4 on FaZe Clan’s map pick, Nuke, largely thanks to Rene “TeSeS” Madsen, who had a KD score of 16 – 8 and an ADR of 100.

After the first half of the second map (8 – 4), it looked like Falcons were going to win 2 – 0. But FaZe Clan fought back, sent the map into overtime, and won 14 – 16.

On the third map, Mirage, we had once again an 8 – 4 score after the first half. But this time, Falcons managed to hold on to their advantage and won 13 – 10.

This is the second time when NiKo and his teammates have reached the Grand Final of a PGL event in 2025. They lost the first one against MOUZ. We’ll see what they can do this time against G2.
