Through exploring every nook and cranny of Rust’s expansive globe, Rust players can uncover several fascinating hidden locales. Only locked doors can conceal some of the best loot.
Fortunately, special colored keycards can be used to open these doors. While examining monuments, players might have found a few random green keycards. Finding a Green keycard is easy. Blue keycards are more difficult to locate and typically need more work, but the extra trouble is worthwhile. This guide will discuss how to get blue keycards Rust and blue keycard locations.
What Are Keycards?
Keycards, used in conjunction with fuses to open locked treasure rooms housing a variety of riches, can be found on desks around the area. Even if the door is already open, the keycard will gradually become less durable with each use. Depending on how many users are on the Rust server, the keycards respawn on average every 30 minutes.
Why Do We Need KeyCards?
To reach different locations of monuments in Facepunch’s Rust, you need a variety of keycards. The largest regions on the map are called Monuments, and they include, among many other things, Lighthouse and Gas Station.
By pressing G to display your map and viewing the names of the monuments, you can locate them. Monuments won’t always be in the same spot because Rust maps are procedural.
Since the electricity system was added to Rust, keycards are now frequently used as a piece of a larger jigsaw that includes fuses and switches. In most cases, resolving these riddles will grant you access to a plethora of boxes containing valuable loot and keycards to enter other locations. You’ll need several keycards of various varieties to access the monuments with the highest payouts.
Where To Find Blue Keycard?
In Rust, there are three locations where you can find blue keycards (the Harbour, Satellite Dish, and Sewer Branch), and in each of these locations, you must utilize a green keycard and an electric fuse to complete a problem.
So, on standard Rust maps, you can obtain a blue keycard at the following 4 precise locations:
- Harbor
- Outpost
- Satellite Dish
- Sewer Branch
Each site, except for the Outpost, contains a small puzzle that requires you to insert one or two electrical fuses before turning on a few switches to utilize a green keycard. The riddles will be rather simple to solve if you have at least beginner-level knowledge of electricity. A green door with a slot where you could enter an inactive keycard is what you’ll typically discover.
Try to trace the electrical lines that enter the door back to their source to turn it on. There is typically a power cabinet there that is constantly sparking. You will need to put your electric fuse there. You must rapidly locate the switch connected to the power cabinet and the door that will open, as the fuse will only survive for three minutes.
Go to your green door, slide the green keycard inside, and then turn that on.
You’ll always find a blue keycard inside the room or area you enter. You can’t find these cards in any other places at random. Only green keycard rooms have blue keycards
Blue Keycard Locations
Here are the locations where you can find blue keycards:
Harbor 1 (Small Harbor):
The first place to find blue cards is a monument called “Harbour 1,” which is marked on the map. This place is frequently referred to as the “small harbor.” Here, you must solve green key card puzzles that require 1 fuse and a green card to access the blue key card.
The small harbor has a train station located at one end of the small harbor, whereas the large harbor is larger, and the train station is in the corner, as seen on the map.
Go to this building, visible from above, as you approach the harbor from the side opposite the water. When you arrive at the building, go down to the ground floor level and turn the switch after adding a fuse to the fuse box.
Finally, ascend the stairs and use your green card to unlock the door to access the desk, where you will find the blue card.
Harbor 2 (Large Harbor):
The next monument is “Harbour 2,” marked on the map. Several people refer to this as the “large harbor.” Here, a green puzzle that requires 1 fuse and a green card must be solved to access the blue keycard. Proceed towards the end of the hanger closest to the water as you approach the harbor from the side facing the sea.
You will see the railway tracks that cut through the monument when you are about halfway there; follow them until you come across a tiny container. When you reach the container, enter it, then turn the switch outside after adding a fuse to the box inside. Finally, keep moving forward until you reach the far end of the hanger, where you will find a green door. Scan your card there and grab the blue card that shows up.
Satellite Dishes:
The third place to find blue cards is a monument called “Satellite Dish,” marked on the map. This green puzzle and the blue key card it unlocks require one fuse and a green card.
Go to the side of the Satellite Dishes, where a ramp leads in that direction. Then proceed to the container here by moving down and to the left. Before going outside, turn on the switch on the back side, enter the door, and add a fuse first. When you reach a second container, swipe your card on the door, take the blue card, and then follow the pipe through here, turning left at the single junction.
Sewer Branch:
The next monument on the map to find a blue card is “Sewer Branch,” Approach the monument from the side where the stop sign and the wrecked car are. After that, cross the broken fence and head over to the recycler. Add a fuse to the box, open the door next to the recycler, and turn the switch.
After that, return to where you entered the monument and jump down the hole on the left. Then, follow the trail until you come to a green door, where you can swipe your card. Once inside, turn right and proceed to the end before turning left into this room. You will get a blue key card here.
Outpost:
If none of these sources provide blue cards, you can purchase one from the Outpost for 100 scraps. The Outpost, which is marked on the map, is a certain region with lots of stores and recyclers. Go to the Outpost, then move across to the area with the two raised stores. Open the store on the right, then click the Buy button.
Alternative Method: Fishing Up a Rarity
For the truly daring, there’s a small chance (around 20%) of obtaining a Blue Keycard by fishing and gutting specific high-tier fish. These include Catfish, Salmon, Small Sharks, and Orange Ruffies. While not the most reliable method, it offers a unique way to acquire this valuable item.
