BLAST Open Spring 2025 had no business being as epic as it was. This $400.000 tournament made us feel like we were watching a CS2 Major. Its Grand Final, in particular, was absolutely superb. MOUZ came close to beating Vitality despite their formidable form but lost the last two maps.
Nobody anticipated the 13 – 0 result on the first map, Inferno, just as nobody anticipated MOUZ’s victories on Mirage and Dust II. On the second one of these maps, Vitality had a 9 W – 0 L record!
A Quick Summary of the Grand Final
The Grand Final of BLAST Open Spring 2025 was a 5-map series in which Vitality dominated MOUZ on three of the five maps while MOUZ narrowly defeated Vitality on the other two. The scores were 13 – 0 on Inferno, 11 – 13 on Mirage, 11 – 13 on Dust II, 13 – 7 on Nuke, and 13 – 7 on Train.
At the end of the day, MOUZ simply had to admit that they were facing a much stronger opponent. Despite the extraordinary performance of Spinx, who finished the 2nd and 3rd maps with a score of 26 – 14 and 19 – 10 respectively, Vitality had a superior strategy and their roster is simply much more prestigious.
Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut is in the best form of his career and looks destined to win the best CS2 player of the year award again. At the same time, Robin “ropz” Kool, who was named the man of the match, is having an incredible performance as well.
His lurking skills are easily the best in the world, which enables the rest of his team to do what they do best. Now we fully understand why FaZe Clan went from being a good team to being a formidable team immediately after his signing.
We also see why Vitality wanted him so badly. He is the key ingredient they were missing to become the best team in the world.
