Tradeit League FE Masters #5 Quarterfinals Preview

0

After two rounds of elimination matches, the quarterfinals of Tradeit League FE Masters #5 are ready to begin. Only eight teams are left in the race and the tournament favorites are among them.

Dates

The quarterfinals, semifinals, and Grand Final of Tradeit League FE Masters #5 will all be played this upcoming weekend. The teams will be fighting for a prize pool of $4000. The winner gets $3000 while the runner-up, $1000. Our sponsors are Chips.gg and Elite Klan.

The quarterfinals start at 1 PM CET on Saturday, the semifinals at 15:30 PM on the same day. The Grand Final will be played on Sunday, from 1 PM CET.

Round 1 And Round 2 Results

The eight competitors that are left in the race had to win against at least one opponent and in some cases two. Not every team started in round 1 but even the most prestigious ones had to play in round 2. In some cases, they did not win their matches.

Here are the eight participants that will compete in the quarterfinals, and the opponents they eliminated to get to this point:

  • Imperial Fe: 2 – 0 against 5bites
  • HSG: 2 – 0 against Kitchen Squad, 2 – 1 against ENCE Athena
  • BIG EQUIPA: 2 – 0 against SAW MYST
  • Dreamcatchers: 2 – 0 against Elite Klan Violet
  • NAVI Javelins: 2 – 0 against OneDay
  • Spirit Female: 2 – 1 against Permitta W
  • NIP Impact: 2 – 0 against K10 ASHES
  • Insilio Female: won against Censored (the match was forfeit), 2 – 1 against Let Her Cook

The Quarterfinals

The four quarterfinals of Tradeit League FE Masters #5 will be played between these teams:

  • Imperial Fe vs. HSG
  • BIG EQUIPA vs. dreamcatchers
  • NAVI Javelins vs. Spirit Female
  • NIP Impact vs. Insilio Female

Given the results of the previous editions of Tradeit League FE Masters, NAVI Javelins, dreamcatchers, and NIP Impact are the main contenders for the trophy. But to be victorious, they will likely need to defeat Imperial Fe at some point, and every CS2 enthusiast who watches female tournaments knows what Ana “ANa” Dumbravă is capable of.

The matches can be watched on Tradeit’s official Twitch channel and Kick channel.

Tradeit League Fe Masters #4 Results

The 4th edition of Tradeit League Fe Masters ended with unexpected results. Dreamcatchers, a team full of little-known players, managed to beat some of the best competitors in the race and won the Bo5 Grand Final against France fe without losing a single map.

Overall, the tournament was another big success, attracting more than 43.000 unique viewers and generating close to 17.000 chat messages. More statistics will be provided at the end of the article.

Results

Tradeit League Fe Masters featured teams like NIP Impact, Team Spirit Female, BIG EQUIPA, Elite Klan Violet, ENCE Athena, and many more.

The competitive format was single-elimination, so the competitors had zero room for error. On their path to the trophy, dreamcatchers had to defeat ELITE, wwaves, BIG EQUIPA, Spirit Female, and France fe. Throughout this epic run, they only lost a single map, against BIG EQUIPA.

However, the scores themselves do not tell the entire story. Some maps were won 13 – 11, while others required OT rounds to conclude.

Dreamcatchers will receive $3000 for their victory, and the runner-up, France fe, will receive $1000. We hope that future editions of Tradeit League Fe Masters will offer even bigger prizes.

Tradeit League FE Masters, A Female Esports Initiative

Next week, between July 19 – 21, the fourth edition of Tradeit League FE Masters will be played.

The first three editions have been a much bigger success than we anticipated, and in this summary, you will find out why.

What Is Tradeit League FE Masters

This CS2 series is an attempt by Tradeit and its partners to promote female Counter-Strike. The beginnings of such projects tend to be humble, but our long-term goals are quite epic. Already, the fourth edition of the tournament has a total prize pool almost 10 times bigger than the first.

Currently, Tradeit League FE Masters editions happen quite frequently and are attended by 16 – 24 teams. With four tournaments in the first seven months of 2024 and likely several more until the end of the year, the series is rapidly growing and plenty of fans have already shown their interest in watching it.

As the number of participants, the prize pools, and the viewership numbers increase, the competitive format evolves to provide as much entertainment as possible.

Tradeit League FE Masters #1

This was the first edition of the tournament and its prize pool was not very impressive: £500 or around $640. However, 16 teams decided to compete, many of which are quite famous: NAVI Javelins, NIP Impact, BIG Equipa, etc.

Tradeit League FE Masters #2

For the second edition, we already had a sponsor. Chips.gg decided to join and as a result, the prize pool was increased to $1500 (cash) plus an additional $1300 in CS2 skins. Once again, 16 teams participated.

Tradeit League FE Masters #3

For the third edition, the prize pool was $2800 (cash) plus $2150 in skins. The number of participants stayed the same and the event lasted just two days.

Tradeit League FE Masters #4

This upcoming edition of Tradeit League FE Masters will feature 24 teams and will offer even better prizes: $4000 (cash) plus $1250 in CS2 skins. This time, we have a second sponsor: Elite Klan, a professional gaming and esports community founded by @walleDA1337.

Teams That Will Not Compete In Esports World Cup 2024

Until mid-July, CS2 will be devoid of big events. But the tournament that will put an end to this vacation is likely going to be epic.

Esports World Cup 2024 offers $1 million in prize money and features 15 of the world’s best teams. Team Spirit, Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan, Team Vitality, G2 Esports, and MOUZ are among them.

However, some of the most prestigious organizations in CS2 will not compete in the tournament. If you’re wondering what happened to them, here’s a brief reminder.

Astralis

They did not receive an invitation and did not participate in the qualifiers either. Because of that, Astralis will not be in Riyadh to compete in Esports World Cup’s CS2 event.

Eternal Fire, Cloud9, And BetBoom Team

All of these teams played in the European Qualifier but did not manage to win. Only one qualification spot was offered to the teams in this region and the winner was Sashi Esport.

Team Liquid

Liquid made an attempt to qualify for Esports World Cup and everyone was convinced that they would succeed. But after beating Legacy 2 – 0 and M80 2 – 1 in the North American Qualifier, Liquid had to play a second match against M80 and lost.

The first map was extremely close and finished 11 – 13 in favor of M80. The second map was a disaster for Liquid, who failed to qualify for one of the most important tournaments of the year. No doubt, this failure contributed to the organization’s later decision to bench their IGL, Casper “cadiaN” Møller.

PaiN Gaming

PaiN Gaming had some very promising results earlier this year. They finished 9th – 11th at the Copenhagen Major and then won Global Esports Tour Rio de Janeiro. But in the South American Qualifier for Esports World Cup 2024, they were defeated in the Grand Final by MIBR.

TYLOO And Rare Atom

Both of these teams competed in the Asian Qualifier but were not successful. The competition was won by The MongolZ.

Team Falcons and Ninjas in Pyjamas

Unfortunately for Danny “zonic” Sørensen and his players, Team Falcons lost the first match of the European Open Qualifier. NiP also failed to advance to the Closed Qualifier after losing in the Round of 16.

Team Spirit’s Rise To The Top

Earlier this week, after the end of BLAST Premier Spring Final, DreamHack Jönköping, and FiReLEAGUE Global Final, the ranks of the best CS2 teams in the world was recalculated and Team Spirit ascended to the top position.

For the first time in their history, they are officially regarded as the best team in the world. The story of how they got here less than a year after signing Danil “donk” Kryshkovets is quite interesting.

For 40th To 1st In Under One Year

If we take our starting point the Summer of 2023, we can say that Spirit climbed the ranks with incredible speed. Going from rank 40 to the number 1 position in CS2 this quickly is extremely rare. Such a spectacular achievement illustrates just how good players like donk and Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov really are.

Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotja also joined the team in July last year and the fact that he hasn’t been benched indicates that he has been good enough to be part of this formidable roster.

Spirit won their first trophy of their journey to the top in December last year. It happened at BetBoom Dacha Dubai, a tournament that also featured Cloud9, FURIA Esports, Astralis, BetBoom Team, and Virtus.pro.

Sh1ro joined almost immediately after this success. With him on the roster, Spirit went from good to great in just a few months.

IEM Katowice took place at the beginning of February and was supposed to be a battle between Team Vitality, FaZe Clan, MOUZ, and G2 Esports. Despite the rumors, few people believed that donk would prove capable of carrying Spirit to their first S-tier trophy.

Their first match was against Natus Vincere and they won 2 – 1. At the time, the feeling was that Na’Vi underperformed. But by the end of the tournament, they were the only team that managed to win a map against Spirit. Donk’s performance was off the charts from start to finish, even against opponents like FaZe Clan.

In the Grand Final, Spirit defeated FaZe 3 – 0. Donk’s score was 82 – 40, with an ADR of 124 and a rating 2.0 of 1.93. The next best player was sh1ro, with a score of 53 – 30. Robin “ropz” Kool, FaZe Clan’s best player, finished the match with a score of 50 – 44.

After this great victory, Spirit were defeated in the quarterfinals of the Copenhagen Major. Then, at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade, they were defeated again but in the Grand Final played against MOUZ. IEM Dallas would be another “disappointment”: 3rd – 4th place, after a defeat against Team Vitality.

The second trophy of the season came at BLAST Premier Spring Final, where Spirit defeated G2 Esports, Virtus.pro, Team Vitality, and Natus Vincere. With this success, they went from being ranked 5th globally to being ranked 1st.

G2 And Liquid Make Important Roster Changes

It seems that G2 Esports and Team Liquid are planning to climb even higher in CS2 global rankings. The first team is currently ranked 6th while the second one is ranked 11th.

To reach their ambitious goals, both teams have announced important roster changes. Nemanja “nexa” Isaković and Casper “cadiaN” Møller were benched and will likely join other clubs in the coming weeks.

G2’s 2024 Results

In 2024, we’ve seen G2 winning IEM Dallas and finishing in the top four at two other events: PGL Major Copenhagen and IEM Chengdu. At IEM Katowice they were 5th – 6th.

At ESL Pro League they were in the top eight. At BLAST Premier Spring Final they lost their first two matches and finished 7th – 8th out of eight teams.

Despite failing in their most recent CS2 tournament, G2’s performance in 2024 has been good overall.

But when you have players like Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, it’s hard not to have far bigger ambitions. Especially now, when m0NESY seems to be on his way to securing a top-three result at the individual level for 2024.

Nexa joined G2 just six months ago but he couldn’t quite keep up with the rest of the crew. And, unlike Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, who has heavy IGL duties, he cannot justify the low stats he’s been registering for months now.

This was the second roster change made by G2 in 2024. The first one was Justin “jks” Savage, who left the team at the end of February.

It remains to be seen who will take nexa’s place. Assuming that G2 want to win more trophies in the future, not fewer, they will need to bring in a world-class player who can help them defeat the likes of FaZe Clan, Team Vitality, and even Team Spirit.

Liquid’s 2024 Results

Team Liquid signed cadiaN in December last year in the hopes that he could lead them to victory in as many tournaments as possible. Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken was signed at around the same time.

These two CS2 superstars were expected to improve the team’s results substantially and to some extent they have. Liquid’s current rank in CS2 is 11th, which is much better than the one they had at the start of the year.

But apparently, the progress made since then hasn’t been enough to justify cadiaN’s signing. Or perhaps something else caused Liquid to bench him so quickly.

In their official statement, the organization said that the reason for this decision was a potential transfer. But to which team?… We’ll probably find out soon.

Complexity Are The Champions of DreamHack Jönköping

Complexity was without a doubt one of the favorites at DreamHack Jönköping. Because they were the highest-ranked team in the tournament, everyone expected them to qualify for the playoffs and perhaps even the Grand Final.

The fact that they won the trophy confirms their strength and should boost their confidence for the upcoming Esports World Cup, which is scheduled to be played in Riyadh between July 17 – 21.

Complexity’s Path To Victory

Complexity began DreamHack Jönköping with a crushing victory against Alliance. The famous esports organization, primarily known for its Dota 2 results, decided last year to venture into Counter-Strike with a Swedish roster. But so far, they haven’t been able to get any important results in B-tier, A-tier, or S-tier tournaments.

Complexity quickly defeated them on Dust II. The score was 13 – 2 and everyone on their roster played well.

The second match of the tournament proved to be much harder. ENCE, led by Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, looked a lot more stable than several weeks ago, when they finished 9th – 10th at YaLLa Compass after changing two players.

It seems that Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev and Paavo “podi” Heuskanen are close to being fully integrated into ENCE’s roster. The team’s match against Complexity finished with a favorable result: 10 – 13 on Dust II.

Despite being the team’s IGL, gla1ve had the highest KD score (+9) and the highest rating 2.0 on the server (1,62).

In the decider match, Complexity lost the first map, Ancient, against MIBR (8 – 13) but won the 2nd and 3rd. The scores, however, were very tight: 13 – 11 on Vertigo and 13 – 10 on Anubis.

In the playoffs, Complexity faced Aurora Gaming first and won 1 – 2. All three maps were a bit disappointing from a spectacle point of view because they were extremely one-sided. The scores speak for themselves: 6 – 13 on Anubis, 13 – 7 on Nuke, and 3 – 13 on Inferno.

In the Grand Final, Complexity met Team Falcons. Both of these teams hadn’t won a single event in 2024 and were eager to claim their first trophy. For Falcons, who invested heavily in their new CS2 roster, this win would have been a great morale boost. But Complexity were just a bit better.

The scores were 13 – 10 on Vertigo and 13 – 9 on Nuke. The best player on the server was Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, whose 40 – 26 score played a huge role in Complexity’s triumph.

Another Trophy For Donk

After Team Spirit won IEM Katowice back in February, people were so amazed by Danil “donk” Kryshkovets’ performance that they expected to see an era of dominance similar to that of Astralis or FaZe Clan. But Spirit weren’t ready to conquer the world yet.

At the Copenhagen Major, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by FaZe Clan. At BetBoom Dacha Belgrade, they lost the Grand Final against MOUZ. At IEM Dallas, they were stopped in the semifinals by Vitality.

Going into BLAST Premier Spring Final, Spirit had a lot to prove. Everyone knew they would win the group stage but the expectation was that they would lose in the semifinals. Instead of choking, this time Spirit recovered after a disastrous start and went on to win the entire event.

Team Spirit’s Matches

In the group stage of BLAST Premier Spring Final, Spirit started with a 2 – 1 result against G2 Esports. Losing the first map against a team that plays with the coach as a stand-in is a bad sign. But somehow, donk and his crew managed to ignore this failure and won the next two maps with ease.

In the second match, played against Virtus.pro, the situation was quite different. Spirit started with a clear victory on Ancient (4 – 13) but struggled to win on Dust II (11 – 13).

Once again, the best player on the server was donk, who had so many excellent map results that he ended up winning the MVP award for the entire tournament.

The playoffs started poorly for Team Spirit, who lost the first half of Mirage 2 – 10 against one of the favorites. In the second half, however, they nearly completed an epic comeback. The final score was 11 – 13. Vitality won but what happened left them a bit demoralized.

On Dust II and Anubis, Spirit no longer gave them an easy start and the results were much better: 13 – 9, 13 – 9. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut played well but received too little support from the other Vitality players.

The Grand Final was expected to end quickly because Spirit looked significantly stronger than Natus Vincere. But Justinas “jL” Lekavicius actually gave them a run for their money.

The scores were 9 – 13 on Ancient, 9 – 13 on Dust II, 13 – 4 on Mirage, and 6 – 13 on Nuke. Without donk’s 73 – 57 score, this could have easily been a Na’Vi victory.
