Tradeit League FE Masters #5 was an excellent CS2 tournament in which the best female teams in the game showed us what they’re capable of.
In the Grand Final, NAVI Javelins won their 3rd trophy in this series and received $3000 for this victory. Their opponent, Imperial Female, who changed their roster at the end of May this year, played well but were not able to win more than one map in the best-of-five.
It seems that the new roster, despite getting good results during the Summer and having one of the most accomplished players in female Counter-Strike (Ana “ANa” Dumbravă), still has some work to do.
Impressions
For NAVI Javelins, this victory confirms their strength and the fact that their new IGL, Mayline “ASTRA” Champliaud, has already found a winning playstyle with the Polish trio that has been competing for NAVI for the past two years.
Marta “D7” Asensio, the other player who joined the team at the start of August this year, played slightly worse than her teammates but still had a solid overall performance.
NAVI Javelins’ Path To Victory
NAVI Javelins started Tradeit League FE Masters #5 with a victory against OneDay. The scores were 16 – 13 on Ancient and 13 – 5 on Mirage.
In the quarterfinals, the opponent was Spirit Female and the match looked relatively easy: 13 – 8 on Inferno, 13 – 6 on Ancient.
The first major test for NAVI Javelins came in the semifinals. Their opponent, NIP Impact, had finished 3rd – 4th at the previous two editions of Tradeit League FE Masters, so everyone knew how good they were.
The scores don’t tell the whole story but still offer an indication of just how tense each map was: 13 – 8 on Dust II (after 5 – 7 in the first half), 9 – 13 on Anubis (after 6 – 6), and 13 – 10 on Inferno (after 7 – 5).
Mayline “ASTRA” Champliaud, despite being the IGL, finished the match with an excellent score: 59 – 39. She was by far the best player on the server.
In the Grand Final, the first map was the most disputed of the four. Imperial Female eventually lost 14 – 16 but managed to initially recover from a 4 – 8 score after the first half. The other three maps were a bit one-sided: 6 – 13 on Mirage, 13 – 6 on Dust II, and 5 – 13 on Ancient.
