The group stage of IEM Dallas 2025 ended with a lot of predictable results. Apart from GamerLegion, who stunned G2 Esports to advance from 3rd place in group A, all the favorite teams did what they were supposed to.
One small exception was Team Falcons, who did not manage to win group B. In the upper bracket Final, they were defeated by the 3rd best team in the world, MOUZ.
Because of this defeat, Falcons will need to play against Team Vitality in the semifinals if they manage to beat GamerLegion in the quarterfinals. This would be the 4th encounter between the two teams in just five weeks. The previous three were won by Vitality but only narrowly.
Playoffs Teams
Here are the six teams that will compete in the playoffs of IEM Dallas:
- Team Falcons
- GamerLegion
- The MongolZ
- Aurora Gaming
- Team Vitality
- MOUZ
Because they won’t encounter Vitality or Falcons until the Grand Final, MOUZ are very likely to reach the last match of the tournament. Apart from these two teams, nobody managed to beat MOUZ since February 16!
We’re talking about an 18-win streak if we ignore the five defeats suffered against Vitality and the three defeats suffered against Falcons during the last several months.
MOUZ’s opponent will be either The MongolZ or Aurora. Both teams are strong but they don’t seem capable of beating the German organization in this tournament.
In the other quarterfinal, Falcons should easily beat GamerLegion if Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov is in good form. The two teams already met at PGL Bucharest 2025 and IEM Melbourne. Falcons won the last two matches quite easily.
The big favorites to win the trophy are Vitality, Falcons, and MOUZ, in this particular order. Based on what we’ve seen since the start of the year, Vitality will likely be the winner once again.
