The semifinals of BLAST Premier World Final were, as we expected challenging for all participants.
After a three map series, Team Spirit won against Astralis. G2 Esports did the same against Team Vitality.
In both cases, the superstars performed well when it mattered most. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets had the highest number of kills on the server, while Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov was one league above everyone else, finishing with a score of 63 – 36, an ADR of 100.7, and a rating 2.1 of 1.55.
Right now, he is most likely one of the top three favorites to win the best player of the year award. Thanks to him, G2 have qualified for another Grand Final of an S-tier CS2 tournament. The previous one, played at BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024, was a triumph.
It remains to be seen if G2 can win again. Last time, they had to beat Natus Vincere. Now they will play against Team Spirit.
G2 Esports vs. Team Vitality: 2 – 1
This match started well for G2, who had a massive lead after the first half of Dust II: 9 – 3. In the second half, Vitality looked capable of making a comeback thanks to the great performance of Lotan “Spinx” Giladi and Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut. But G2 managed to make a comeback of their own and won 13 – 10.
The 2nd and 3rd maps were fairly one-sided, at least in the second half. Vitality won on Inferno 7 – 13 while G2 won on Mirage 13 – 8.
This victory was expected to happen because Vitality had to play with a stand-in.
Team Spirit vs. Astralis: 2 – 1
Spirit had a very strong start in this match, winning the second half of Dust II 6 – 0. The final score on this map was 13 – 5.
The next two maps were, once again, one-sided. Astralis won Vertigo 3 – 13 while Spirit won Ancient 13 – 5.
For donk, this was an important victory that will allow him to stay in the race for the best player of the year.
