The playoff stage of ESL Pro League S21 is about to begin. Eight of the 24 participating teams are still in the race and every single one of them has at least a small chance of winning the trophy.
Unfortunately for Team Falcons and the three Brazilian teams that played in stage 2, none of them were able to advance. Falcons came close but their hopes and dreams were crushed in round 5 by Eternal Fire.
Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and his crew will need to improve some more if they want to climb high in the rankings because right now, a lot of CS2 teams are in great shape.
Participants
Here are the eight teams that qualified for the playoffs of ESL Pro League S21:
- Team Vitality
- Team Spirit
- MOUZ
- The MongolZ
- Natus Vincere
- G2 Esports
- Eternal Fire
- Team Liquid
The strongest two teams on this list are Vitality and Spirit. They were also the finalists of IEM Katowice. Based on the playoffs bracket seeding, the odds that they will meet again in the Grand Final are high. But they will face major obstacles.
Vitality will need to beat Liquid and probably NAVI. If The MongolZ beat the Ukrainian team, Vitality should win the semifinal with ease.
Spirit’s path to the Grand Final looks much easier. Their first match will be against Eternal Fire while their second match will probably be against G2 Esports.
