IEM Cologne 2025 did not end as we expected. The tournament was won by Team Spirit, who defeated MOUZ in the Grand Final without losing a single map.
However, despite this dominant victory, Team Vitality continue to remain, for now at least, the highest-ranked team in CS2.

Team Vitality
Vitality’s impressive win-streak is finally over but that doesn’t mean they can’t win trophies anymore. In fact, based on everything we know, what happened at IEM Cologne was most probably a fluke.
MOUZ needed a lot of things to go well and a lot of planets to align to beat them in the semifinals. The mere fact that they went on to lose 0 – 3 against Spirit in the Grand Final indicates that they might have been a bit lucky against Vitality.
Team Spirit
For Spirit, who have one of the best players in the world in the person of Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, the sky is the limit. Their success at IEM Cologne demonstrates that the organization’s decision to replace Boris “magixx” Vorobyev with Ivan “zweih” Gogin was a good one.
In 2025, Spirit won three S-tier trophies and finished in the top four at several more. This team only has a few opponents that can realistically beat it and might prove capable of establishing an era of dominance in the near future.
MOUZ
MOUZ won a single trophy in 2025, at PGL Cluj-Napoca. But they have been incredibly consistent, finishing four times 2nd and three times 3rd – 4th.
Like Spirit, this is a team that could easily start winning a lot more trophies with just a few upgrades. However, those upgrades will be hard to make.
