Austin Major Stage 1 Results

Share

Stage 1 of BLAST.tv Austin Major ended last night and for the most part, the favorite teams advanced to the second stage of the tournament.

Some people had expected NRG, FlyQuest, and Wildcard to be among the winners but they all got eliminated in round 5. In the case of FlyQuest and Wildcard, the elimination was particularly painful because both teams had won their first two matches and then went on to lose three times in a row.

The 3 W – 0 L Teams

As expected, HEROIC had no problem in stage 1 of the Austin Major, defeating Chinggis Warriors, NRG, and FlyQuest with relative ease.

It seems that Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia has finally found his rhythm and is able to have a big impact on almost every game played by his team.

Based on what we’ve seen so far, HEROIC should advance to the third stage next week.

The other team that finished stage 1 with a perfect score was B8. Andrij “npl” Kukharsjkyj and the rest of his Ukrainian teammates defeated Imperial, OG, and Wildcard.

The 3 W – 1 L Teams

In this category, we have BetBoom Team, OG, and Nemiga Gaming. Of these three, OG had the most convincing performance and only lost one map against B8.

In their other three matches, OG completely destroyed their opponents, ending the stage with an overall round score of 61 – 29, by far the best of all the participants.

The 3 W – 2 L Teams

In the 5th round of stage 1 of BLAST.tv Austin Major, TYLOO, and Lynn Vision Gaming outperformed their opponents, giving Chinese Counter-Strike a reason to cheer and believe in a bright future. The other team that qualified for stage two in the final round of this stage was Legacy.
