PGL Bucharest 2025 has begun. This CS2 event is a great opportunity for the likes of G2 Esports, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, The MongolZ, and Astralis because Team Vitality, Team Spirit, MOUZ, and Natus Vincere are not here to ruin their chances.

With $625.000 in prize money and 16 participants, many of which are top 20 teams, PGL Bucharest 2025 promises to be a great esports event.

Dates, Location, and Format

PGL Bucharest 2025, as the name suggests, takes place in Romania’s capital city, Bucharest, between April 6 – 13. Every day, the matches start at around 10 AM EEST, at least during the group stage.

The tournament’s first stage uses the Swiss System format. All matches are best-of-three. The top eight teams advance to Playoffs. The second stage utilizes the single-elimination format. Once again, all matches are best-of-three except for the Grand Final.

The winner gets $200.000.

Participants and Favorites

Here are the 16 teams that compete in PGL Bucharest 2025:

  • G2 Esports
  • The MongolZ
  • FaZe Clan
  • Aurora Gaming
  • Team Falcons
  • Team Liquid
  • FURIA
  • Virtus.pro
  • GamerLegion
  • 3DMAX
  • Astralis
  • PaiN Gaming
  • Complexity
  • Legacy
  • Apogee Esports
  • Rare Atom

At least half of these teams have a real chance of winning the trophy. Keep an eye on:

  • G2 Esports
  • The MongolZ
  • FaZe Clan,
  • Team Liquid
  • Team Falcons
  • Virtus.pro
  • PaiN Gaming
  • Astralis

3DMAX and a few other names could probably be added to the list as well. However, the problem is that 3DMAX will need to play against The MongolZ in the first round, which almost guarantees that their start will be a bad one.

Astralis are also in a lot of trouble because their round 1 opponent will be FaZe Clan. The two teams know each other well but at this point in time, FaZe are considerably stronger.
