The Shanghai Major is starting in several days and Valve has released the long-awaited stickers for the tournament. Some of these items could become famous, especially if the event turns out to be memorable.
Types of Shanghai Major Stickers
The Shanghai Major Stickers come in four categories:
- Contenders stickers
- Challengers stickers
- Legends stickers
- Champion stickers
Each of the first three categories is further divided into two subcategories: autographed stickers and non-autographed stickers.
The Contender Stickers capsule contains CS2 stickers depicting the lowest-ranked teams in the Shanghai Major. However, some of these stickers could easily become valuable if their corresponding teams obtain a top result.
For each team, there is a basic sticker, a Glitter sticker, a Holo sticker, and a Gold sticker. Basic stickers are quite common while Gold stickers are quite rare.
The Challengers Stickers capsule covers the mid-tier teams competing in the Shanghai Major. However, this capsule costs exactly the same as the first: €0.95.
When you decide which capsule to buy, it’s mostly a matter of preferance. The question is: which capsule contains the highest number of teams that you care about? Or which capsule contains the highest number of teams that could perform really well?
Normally, you would think that the Contenders is the weakest category while the Legends is the strongest. But because of Valve’s rules, there are a few teams in the Contenders category that won their RMRs.
In the Legends Stickers capsule you can find stickers depicting eight teams:
- G2 Esports
- Natus Vincere
- Team Vitality
- Team Spirit
- MOUZ
- FaZe Clan
- HEROIC
- 3DMAX
In the same capsule, you will also find the Perfect World sticker, which corresponds to the tournament itself. Finding the rarest version of this sticker could prove to be highly profitable in a few months or years, so it doesn’t hurt to try.
The Champion Stickers capsule has not yet been revealed because it corresponds to the winning team. That team will become known on December 15.
