Dota 2 Battle Pass 2022 Release Date

Every year, a few months before the start of The International, the TI Battle Pass is released by Valve, and Dota 2 players from around the globe purchase it in large numbers. Dota 2 Battle Pass 2022 is when the community comes together and invests anywhere between 100 and 200 million dollars in this DLC.

A quarter of the amount is used by Valve to boost the prize pool of The International. And that’s the main reason why the 2021 edition of the Dota 2 World Championship offered $40 million in prizes, which is a staggering amount.

What Does the Dota 2 Battle Pass Contain

Every year The International Battle Pass contains many components that greatly enhance the players’ experience. This is perhaps one of the cheapest DLCs in the gaming industry for the value it offers. It only costs $10 and what you get in exchange is potentially worth hundreds.

Here are some of the coolest things that you can find in the TI Battle Pass:

Skins

The Dota 2 Battle Pass can be leveled up. The more you level it up, the greater the rewards that you’ll get. You unlock arcanas and other skins worth dozens or even hundreds of dollars at high levels.

Like CS:GO, Dota 2 has a thriving community that loves skins. The price of an ultra-rare skin set can range between $50 and a few thousand dollars. Another thing to remember is that skins tend to get more expensive as time goes by. In 3-5 years, what you get from the 2022 Battle Pass may be worth thousands of dollars.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the prize pool of The International dictates, in some cases, the level of rewards offered to players who own a high-level Battle Pass. There were years in which Valve told the community that if the prize pool surpasses a given amount, everyone would get a lot more rewards for their efforts.

Instead of one treasure box, some players got 2 or even 3.

Visual Effects

One of the great things offered by the Battle Pass is visual effects. These effects often apply to items or heroes, but they can use to other elements as well. For example, you can sometimes customize the map terrain or the color of the water inside the river.

Valve gets increasingly creative as the years go by, and everyone is curious to see what they have in store this time.

Quests

When you play competitive games and own the Battle Pass, you get to do quests that grant you points and help you to level up your Battle Pass. These quests are often quite challenging, forcing you to improve your skills with certain heroes.

Unique Game Mode

Another great feature of the TI Battle Pass is the game mode you can play with your friends. Every year, Valve creates a campaign distinct from the main game, and people explore it with their friends. It can be a battle royale or something super fun to play.

Chatwheel Lines

This is perhaps one of the most beautiful features contained in the Battle Pass. Throughout the years, Dota 2 players and casters have created a lot of memorable moments with their reactions. And those sounds or lines of dialogue have become memes.

The Dota 2 Battle Pass includes many memes and allows players to reuse them as they see fit. For example, one of the most famous ones is “Ceeeeeeeeeeb!”. This line belongs to ODPixel, who screamed the player’s name in the Grand Final of The International 2018.

The player, Sebastien “Ceb” Debs, played Axe and had one of the best moments of his career. His play in that game ended up winning OG the match and the Aegis of Champions.

Dota 2 Battle Pass 2022 Release Date

The release date of Dota 2 Battle Pass 2022 is likely to be August 14-15. That’s when the season’s final Dota Pro Circuit Major ends, and the 12 directly invited teams to The International are announced.

If the Battle Pass isn’t announced immediately after the tournament ends, it will likely be announced either during the event or one week after. So the exact date could be anywhere between August 10 and August 25.

In previous years, The International used to take place between August 15-25. But things have changed since 2019, and the competition is now held in October.

With only 10 weeks left to go, it’s obvious that Valve needs to make the announcement as soon as possible. Otherwise, there may not be enough time left to raise enough money for the tournament’s prize pool.

Given the huge success of the Battle Pass from the previous years, it’s quite clear that Valve doesn’t want to fail in 2022. The community expects another record-breaking year, and although that’s very unlikely to happen, a prize pool of at least $25 million looks perfectly achievable.

The sooner the Battle Pass gets released, the better for Valve and the community. Normally, we should have had it by now. But it seems that Valve moved a bit slower this year.
